The Arca Maxi Lock is a two part Arca plate and clamp system that features grooved side walls to create the ideal locking force compared the existing standard Arca system. Compared to standard Arca plates and clamps which come with smooth side walls in a dovetail-style quick-release system. The Maxi System is the only grooved Arca system ever created.
The Maxi Lock Clamp is the locking receiver for the Maxi Lock Plate which is also grooved with corresponding teeth. The teeth used are curved and smooth. They are not jagged. They interlock with each other when joined. When the clamp is closed via a cam lever the grooves interlock and when secured they do not slip or move under heavy strain or shock. The cam lock lever has a spring loaded pin lock to prevent involuntary unlock.
This design also clamps picatinny size rails in the center of the clamp. The center has a lower level which is in a dove tail shape which closes/clamps on to a picatinny rail. The bottom of the clamp is a standard arca which can be adapted onto a standard arca to make the conversion from standard to Maxi Lock features.
The system will attach to the bottom of a camera, gun/firearm scope or lens, allowing instant lock to tripods and other equipment with an Arca clamp on them which is a camera industry standard.
The clamp also features 3 interface female threaded holes underneath for mounting on substrates such as plates, tripods with either 3/8 or ¼ inch male screw heads.
